Peace Mellon Anim...
Must comment you have a beautiful elven name....love it! I use Glauriel which means daughter of the light of the golden tree and since Galadriel was supposed to have the light of the golden tree in her hair it is a connection for me to her...She is my fav character in the stories...
Back to your question on bedding...What color is the actual bed? Could you make it silver? With either spray paint or a quart of cheap Walmart silver paint? Then you could do the deep purple bedding in a shimmery fabric. Or if you have dark wood then a beautiful shimmery deep purple but even better a shimmery silver.
Another question for you, can you sew? Nothing fancy but just basic stitching on a machine? What about sewing your own? It doesn't have to be fancy its really just a large oblong or maybe a square of double fabric. See what the dimensions are for a twin bed covering (they ALWAYS tell you on the info) and then you allow about 3-4 inches extra for seams and there you go! You can also do some trim without sewing using something called stich witchery (local fab store) You just iron stuff on with it and its like sewing without the thread. Also you could find some fabric samples that maybe have a leaf pattern you like on it -maybe a tone on tone silver? Cut out some of the leaves, use stitch witchery or something similar to iron them onto top of bedding then to hide the raw fabric edge use a silver glittering fabric glue to outline them... Its wash proof and would look really nice. What do you think?
If you sew your own you could put a light weight cotton fabric in your choice of color underneath and put a more shimmery fabric on top where it will show. Remember when sewing always sew wrong sides together and then leave small section unsewn to be able to reverse cover. It also helps before you reverse to iron seams flat. Then after you reverse you simply stitch opening closed. This would give you a light weight coverlet. Remember the dream scene with Arwen and Aragorn? Remember her dress? That dreamy fabric? Something like that in texture/ floatiness would be awesome! Another thought if you sew your own, it might maybe help to "tack" down top layer to bottem layer here and there to "anchor" it...Know this from a baby spread I made according to above instructions for you... Remember Elven is ethereal and light and airy(most of the time-exception Elronds library)...You are looking for that over all impression. You may not have tons of cash but if you are creative and purpose driven in what you do use it will give the correct impression and that will make you happy!
Ellirwen, I truly hope this has been of some comfort and use to you...I love getting comments and replying to them...SO if so inspired keep them coming. Love this stuff and could talk about it till couldn't talk anymore...Tolkien was divinely inspired and its so wonderful to delve so deeply into his works and dreams!
Just had another little side note that popped into my head...You could also if your good at art use some of the glitter paint alone to make leaf outlines on spread...Or even hand sew/embroider with silver thread some leaves... Don't want to overwhelm you with ideas not knowing your abilites and all... But maybe you know someone who could for you???
Peace,
GG
