This is my dream, my passion to recreate the more beautiful parts of Tolkien's world into my own...To merge what I see with what I do not see, to have a blending of his world with mine...To be able finally to walk in the land I have so longed dreamed of...Come walk with me as we make this journey together...

Great New Idea for A Basement!

Just had this interesting idea for a basement that came as the result of trying to figure out HOW to recreate different realms without having separate spaces...
You may think this is nuts but I am THRILLED!!! This is my wonderful idea. If you don't have separate spaces as I ideally wanted to have you can try this instead. I plan on marking off either a 10 foot wall span or a 12 foot wall span on two adjoining walls containing a corner. Does this make sense? In other words find a corner wall and go 10-12 feet either side. Then what I am thinking to do is to paint each section in a manner supporting a particular realm. For instance I was thinking a painting a room in the pale lavender Arwen room. I would separate this area with a sheer curtain hanging from the ceiling next to the wall right where the colors changed. That would cause a "flow" from one themed area to the next. AND it will give me the flexibility to do multiple realms without having the desired walls. What a neat basement!!! I really want Arwen's lavender room with the silver trim and an area respresenting the dwarves and their walls studded with sparkling jewels. Intend to do this with paint effects. Also somewhere in the house I must have my Galadriel's Lothlorien with the swan boat bed, the "river" and the bank filled with ferns, etc... What a thrill to be able to continue the dream now from a different angle! Hope this inspires you to dream also.

Peace mellon's...
