Remember the basement ideas? Well am taking my own advice... Have an partially unfinished basement that has no drywall just this shiny silver insulation stuff over the wood there...Ok, no problem. Am seeking for white or lavender netting that is going to be hung from curtain rods suspended from the ceiling forming a "wall" that will be filmy and soft, very feminine. It will either hide or barely show the silver underneath. So see no problem.
A friend just gave me a long eggplant colored window scarf that I cut in half then attached to a suspended curtain rod (the round ones). It is hanging in front of the daybed that I just placed in one back corner of the room. It forms a sheer room divider for the bed and is lovely to see. When no one is using the bed I am tieing back the front curtain to frame the bed. I have started a mural on the end wall facing the bed so that while laying in the bed you can look at this fantastic Rivendell style mural and think you are there. There are no close windows so the mural compensates for that. Its going to be a lovely guest "room" here really soon...
Am trying to decide what kind of bed covering to use here. May use the bedspread that was in my original Rivendell room. It may just work! Not sure yet about the colors and all...That will come after the rest is done.
Am also going to suspend some kind of curtains from one corner of the ceiling to the other to cover the exposed support beams on the ceiling. This will also add to the soft feminine feel to the room. Kind of reminds me of the movie shots of the egyptian bedrooms.
All for now, not a complete post but will edit and add later when time. Just wanted to get this out there for what its worth for starters.
