This is my dream, my passion to recreate the more beautiful parts of Tolkien's world into my own...To merge what I see with what I do not see, to have a blending of his world with mine...To be able finally to walk in the land I have so longed dreamed of...Come walk with me as we make this journey together...

New Lothlorien Gardens

We moved and that meant had to start over on my gardens. I can no longer have all the other garden area's of ME that I did at the other place but can't fret over what I lost. This new place is beautiful and peaceful. And its perfect for Lothlorien gardens! It already has two hills one smaller and one long and wonderful for my dreams to materialize. It is a mostly wooded parcel this new place again perfect. It has wonderful rock outcroppings that are the stuff my dreams are made of. I have already planted some niphridil on Cerin Amroth and am seeking the elanor to add to it. Have been surveying the area here for where to plant the two rings of trees (space is needed). On the other hill am planning out pathways, a main one and then little ones leading off from this. Then looking into shade plants to make it real. Have picked Galadriels garden spot using the book for the right direction this time (made mistake on last garden). Researching how to do stonework as want to build stone stairway or maybe two myself using all the natural stone that is here. Already built my first small retaining wall after reading like 18 books on the subjects of gardens. The whole place is pretty much going to be included in the gardens but will have functioning areas too that will just be incorporated. After all elves didn't just sit in their trees and sing songs! They planted, and worked at things just like us even though Tolkien never specifically mentions food growing or laundry or such...I cannot give more details on all this yet except that am reading the book very carefully and trying to take detailed notes of "details" to get things perfect as able. Am trying too right off to figure out how to get a black fence going and also where exactly that fence should be in relation to the whole prop and to the gardens proper. This is a more than just a pretty feature, I also need to contain two dogs! So this is a top priority right now...How to incorporate functionality with accuracy according to Tolkien! Keep ya posted!

Must run, so tired, time change, sick elfling, miss my dog, trying not to keep looking out the window at the solar lights I put on her grave so I would know "where" she is. Need to stop doing that, it makes me cry everytime. You get the idea...

Later,
GG
