This is my dream, my passion to recreate the more beautiful parts of Tolkien's world into my own...To merge what I see with what I do not see, to have a blending of his world with mine...To be able finally to walk in the land I have so longed dreamed of...Come walk with me as we make this journey together...

For Elliwen - lets see what we can do....

Sidh iest le mellon anim.... (I wish you peace)

Not to panic! Can you paint your walls? Can you paint them a soft lavender? Are you comfortable with that? Forgive me can't remember if we've discussed that or not and sadly don't have the time since its late to research before answering. Perhaps you don't care for the lavender, can't remember. The lavender WOULD make the white more palatable honestly. It would also add to the airy, elven feel in your room for sure. It would make it feel bigger. (there are other color choices if need be) I like silver MUCH better but white can be made to work. You can accessorize with silver, lots of it! It will compliment the white and purple. ALso another thought that may help you. Does the dresser have drawer pulls on it? If so what about checking out your local hardware store for some "elven" pulls? And then replacing them! ALso wanted to tell you to check out Craigs List... Think its all over the country and they often have cheap and free stuff. Just a thought! May have your amoire there can't hurt to check. Like your organization thoughts. ALso consider under the bed bins or drawers on wheels, its catching on finally...

RE: your gold curtain rod, easy fix for ya! Go to local Walmart or such get a can of spray paint for METAL and get it in silver! Spray it evenly with a couple of coats and there you have your beautiful silver rod that your parents gave you only improved! You will both be happy!

ALso must say impressed with your elvish, mine is limited but love hearing and seeing it whenever I can, thank you for that!

On the bed too not to worry, have you considered the idea of hanging sheer curtains around it for effect? That could soften the white also. Guess maybe you'd want to go with a sheer white or lavender also would be ok. Just would be neat to add some decor to them similar to what was suggested for the bedding or what you mentioned was on your other curtains! Congrats on your great find there! And remember if you do the lavender to add some deep jewel purple pillows on the bed or on a chair ok?

Think you could make your bedding if you can sew a quilt. Know a little about that, have a couple my grandmother made and have considered doing one myself for years. And yes I do understand how hard they are! Bless you!

Another suggestion that occurred to me: not sure of your income status,(not my business either) but if you do have some income there is a company called Seventh Avenue. They have a website and also if you call this number:
800-356-9090 they will send you a free catalog. I mention them because they have a system of low monthly payments if you qualify. I have gotten some wonderful elven things this way through them. It may help you with your accessorizing. Again just a thought. Love the low payment plan and it builds good credit too. Think about it. I got a clock and a garden bench that came indoors. Lovely!

Forgive me again, hope this post is not too disjointed, very tired tonight, brain may not be allowing me to type as coherently as it should. Another thought just came to me and wanted to say it before losing it. You could place your silver pitcher on the dresser or some other focal piece of elven craftsmanship. Remember you don't need ALOT of stuff just a few key pieces to give the effect you want. Hence wall color, bedding, well placed furniture, a few well chosen accessories will do the job!

Ok dear mellon, thanks for writing again, always a welcome thing to hear from fellow middle earthers!

Must run, really, really tired tonight...

Peace,
GG
